'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Trailer Discussion

The Dark Side. The Jedi. They’re real.
— Han Solo

If that quote didn't give you goosebumps, nothing will. The final trailer for 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' has just been released and it has resurrected the spirit of the original trilogy. Here's the trailer, if you haven't seen it:

This trailer is by far one of the best edited trailers in recent history. It hypes the viewer for the movie and introduces many new elements without giving away any of the plot details.

The visual effects look stunning from the mind-blowing space ship fights to the Millenium Falcon hyperjumping. One thing that is a relief is the use of practical effects. We see Chewie in his well known and famous costume!

This trailer gave us the first quick glimpse of Leia being comforted by Han Solo, which makes you wonder what event could have taken place. There are fan theories online suggesting that Kylo Ren and Rey, the female lead are twins and they are the kids of Han Solo. 'Star Wars' fans are very furious about how Luke Skywalker hasn't been in any of the teasers or trailers.

The trailer ends with Finn, the main character facing an unmasked Kylo Ren. We can get the sense that he isn't ready and a fully trained Jedi but he looks incredibly driven. The inclusion of a  vulnerable main character is one of the most important factors that action movies are missing today and it seems that JJ Abrams is aware of this.

What did you think of the trailer? Do you think that the movie will live up to its hype? Let's discuss in the comments!
