Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens Trailer Review

After the pain of waiting to witness our first glimpse of the new Star Wars movie, it is finally here. The long anticipation is over! If you haven't already, here it is:

So, OH MY GOD THIS TRAILER IS AMAZING!!! Where do I even begin? That first shot of the desert was breathtaking, and the voiceover made everything so dark. When the clone trooper popped out, I got a bit scared. The music suddenly got really tense, and it was a bit shocking.  Then, those clone troopers in the ships with guns was really mysterious. Is there another war going on? I've heard from die-hard Star Wars fans that Han Solo's and Leia's child is a bad guy, so could he potentially be our villain in this film?

Also, that cute little droid looked really cool, but where's R2 and C3P0? They are droids, so they won't die. I liked that they showed the droid us, but I would have loved to see the droid duo come back in this film. It would be sad if they are really gone.

Another epic shot was with that guy holding the lightsaber. I've never seen anything like that. That lightsaber looks SOOOOO epic. I want it in my hands really badly! I'm pretty sure the owner of that lightsaber is our villain, and to set him up like that was just perfect. I wonder who will be playing him. It might be Andy Serkis, however I think he will most likely be playing a CGI character, considering his success in other films. Speaking of villains, who's voice was that throughout the trailer? It sounded a lot like Benedict Cumerbatch to me, but I don't think he is in the movie. It could potentially be Max Von Sydow since the voice seems to be very rusty and sounds sort of like an old man talking.

Ending the trailer with the millennium falcon battling the tie fighters was brilliant. That was a really cool sequence! Just seeing the falcon after it's long rest was great. That might be a newer version, considering the fact that it looked different. It could be the same though, and they made it really stylish with CGI. Either way, the falcon is back!

Overall, I am very pleased with what I watched today. I am very pumped for this movie, and am curious to see what J.J. Abrams has in store for us. There is a lot of pressure on him; if he fails, the die hard Star Wars fans will hate him for eternity, and he will be disrespected by pretty much everyone in the business. Based on what we saw here, Abrams delivered BIG TIME. I am very excited about this movie, and have high hopes for it.

So tell us, what did you think of the movie? Do you have any theories on whose voice that was? Share with us your thoughts and we will discuss!
