I'm sure at some point in time you've been tagged in one of those "tag my pals" posts on Facebook right? Well these guys right here would be the bad ass. Whether your saving the world or planning to destroy it, you can only look good doing it, if you act like a bad ass. Just to clarify, being a bad ass does not mean you have to be an ass, it simply means you go about doing your own thing, kicking butt in a classy, but epic way. Right, let's get to it, here are the Top 5 Most Badass Movie Characters of All Time.
5. Chev Chelios - 'Crank' franchise
English hitman Chev Chelios (Jason Statham) is injected by his rivals with a poison that will kill him if his heart rate drops. In order to survive and also to have a fun last day, Chev goes about killing just about ever criminal he comes across in order to find an antidote, whilst doing anything he can to keep his adrenaline going, including reckless driving and stunts, and public nudity. He goes around LA doing whatever he wants, becoming the bad ass of city in order to find the antidote.
Most bad as quote: A tie between “See you later, sunshine.” and “I wonder how many steaks I could make out of you?”
4. Tyler Durden - 'Fight Club'
Although Tyler (Brad Pitt) is simply a mental construction, a ‘persona’ made up by the nameless narrator of the film, he is still a bad ass in an epic way. Burden basically lives the fantasy life of anyone who wants to be cool. He runs a fight club for middle aged men in order to get through the mundane life they all live, all the while ‘getting it on’ with girls, smoking and walking around bare chested with the perfect body. It also helps that he is naturally talented at fighting and everyone loves him. He is also really philosophical, which makes him seem really smart.
Most bad ass quote: “Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken.”
3. Bryan Mills - 'Taken' franchise
Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) is a retired CIA operative, who’s family has really bad luck. Throughout the franchise, members of his family are always “Taken” hostage, forcing Mills to rescue them, in an epic, bad ass man hunt. Perhaps the reason he is so bad ass, is because he is in his middle ages and can still kick ass. He can use almost anything to kill someone and delivers the perfect bad ass one liners such as “I push one button and 38 agents are in here before you have time to scratch your worthless balls”. Also he has a pretty cool Irish accent.
Most bad ass quote: “I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.” (and then two days later) “You don’t remember me? We spoke on the phone two days ago. I told you I would find you.”
2. Jules Winnfield - 'Pulp Fiction'
Jules Winnfield (Sam L Jackson) is a hitman, which already makes him seem like a bad ass character. But it’s the way he reads exerts from the bible, and delivers funny one liners in a sinister, scary way that really makes him one of the most bad ass characters in any movie ever made. Put him together with Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and you have the most intimidating, bad ass hitman partnership known to mankind.
Most bad ass quote: "Mr 9mm here… he’s the shepherd protecting my righteous in the valley of darkness.” and “Does he look like a b****?… Then why you try to f*** him like a bitch… Marcellus Wallace don’t like to be f***** by anyone except Mrs Wallace.”
1. Leonidas - '300'
It takes balls of brass to lead an army of more or less '300' under qualified men to war against the biggest army the world has ever seen. Leonidas knew planned on dying in war, and tried to make it as glorious and noble as he could, which in my eyes, is pretty bad ass. In addition to this, he is brave, brutal and reckless warrior and has a strong mastery over oration, giving perhaps some of the most iconic speeches in any movie to date. He delivers, or perhaps roars and bellows, bad ass lines such as “eat hearty… For tonight, we dine in hell!”, "give them nothing, but take from them everything!” and “Spartans! Prepare for glory!”
Most bad ass quote: "This is Sparta!"
